The Little Things

She closes her eyes right before she says hi
Just hearing her say my name gets my day by
I love how everyone seems to be whispering when she’s talking
And the change in her voice when she sees me walk in
How cute she is when her hair covers her left eye
The little things that make me feel different than the next guy
The coldest days with her are warmer
Just to see her glance at me out of her eye’s corner
The silence after her laugh …true peace
Her arms is the one trap from which I want no release
Her sadness heightens her appeal
She removes my numbness she makes me feel
When I hold her hand
Her grasp seems tighter on my index
The way she stands
The way she looks when she’s perplexed
From when she seems helpless
Right down to her sigh
It leaves me breathless
I can’t explain why
Uncontrollably I stutter
She reveals all of my flaws
And yet the words she utters
Lets me not feel like a lost cause
Her laugh is ridiculous
I can’t help but laugh too
I’m bound by the inconspicuous
It’s the little things I see her do
Everyman wants beauty, beauty is not hard to find
This notion I’d willingly leave behind
Because that now means nothing to me
In comparison to these things which only I see
They’re unique to me, these things I speak of
These little things are what make her the girl I love
